The Joint Review Panel of the National Energy Board is holding hearings on the Enbridge Northern Gateway proposal in Kelowna on January 28th at the Sandman Inn. Opponents of this project have organized ways you can join in and send a clear message to Stephen Harper, Christy Clark and Enbridge:
- The people of B.C. oppose tar sands pipelines and tankers and are willing to defend our waters, lands, and coast.
- 130 First Nations, the BC Métis Federation, the Union of B.C. Municipalities, and several local governments have passed resolutions banning pipelines and opposing Enbridge.
- Okanagan Valley residents stand in solidarity with this unbroken wall of opposition.
- The movement is growing and we will not stop – we will protect the lands, water and coast!

“The People's Summit on Enbridge should be attended by anyone who is concerned about our rivers, our coast and our environmental decision-making process!” says co-organizer Carol Kergan. “People care about decisions which can impact life as we understand it for all generations to come. These are not decisions to make for economic reasons alone. We have to think of true sustainability for our province. Short-sighted and fast decisions undermine that process. Not often does the Okanagan Valley have such a special panel to learn from and ask questions of”.
