Donate now to boost the fight for national pharmacare
We are pleased to see the long-promised legislation for a national pharmacare program has finally been adopted, which means Canadians will soon be able to get their medications with a health card rather than a credit card – starting with diabetes drugs and contraceptives. However, as long as the program remains largely on paper and limited in its scope and coverage, our victory will be fragile.
To solidify this win, the Council of Canadians will be pressing premiers to swiftly opt in to the program, and for the federal government to generously fund and expand the national program.
Together, we’ll make sure that our health care system works for all, not just the wealthy and powerful!
