The Council of Canadians kicked off its national pharmacare campaign with a conversation with patient advocates Bill Swan, Rowan Burdge, Erin Little, Monika Dutt, and our campaigner Nik Barry-Shaw, hosted by Avi Lewis.
Rowan Burdge (she/they) is a queer, chronically-ill advocate and organizer, and is currently the Provincial Director for the BC Poverty Reduction Coalition.
Bill Swan is a life-long severe asthmatic, health economist and founder of the website FacesofPharmacare.ca. He lives in Nova Scotia, where he works as a TV producer.
Erin Little is an undomesticated advocate fighting for pharma transparency and affordable rare disease drugs.
Monika Dutt is a Nova Scotia based Canadian medical doctor, and a past chair of Canadian Doctors for Medicare.
Avi Lewis is a documentary filmmaker and educator, with more than 30 years of experience in journalism and storytelling from the front lines of social movements.
