Canadians have always taken pride in our freshwater abundance — but that abundance is under unprecedented stress. Climate-driven droughts are now common from British Columbia to the Prairies to the Maritimes.

A largely invisible, unregulated industry is accelerating the crisis: the explosive expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) data centres.

A single 100-megawatt data centre uses about 2 million litres of water every day — none of which is returned to local watersheds. No regulations. No accountability.

Thank you for supporting our call to rein in Big Tech’s power and water use. Together, we can protect our precious freshwater systems.
