Volunteer Opportunity for Members Resolutions Committee

The Council of Canadians is seeking a member (1) to join the Resolutions Committee to assist in preparations for the Annual Meeting of Members (AMM) which is scheduled for Sunday, June 22, 2025.

The mandate of the Resolutions Committee is to receive and prepare resolutions submitted by members by May 16, 2025. This includes creating categories for the submission of resolutions, determining the number of resolutions that can be dealt with at an AMM and creating a procedure for members to rank the resolutions prior to the AMM to determine those that are brought forward.

Term to end of this year
If selected, you will serve on the Resolution Committee until the end of December 2025, which is the end of the two-year term. The position is vacant due to the resignation due to personal reasons of one of the Committee members.

Deadline to Apply
The deadline to apply is Sunday, April 20, 2025, at midnight Pacific Time, using the online expression of interest form below.

If you are able to participate in the work of the Resolutions Committee in the period between April 22, 2025 and the AMM on June 22, 2025, with follow up, please consider applying.

Work Plan
The Resolutions Committee will start its work to oversee 2025 AMM resolutions process on April 22, 2025 and will proceed as follows:

  • April 22, 2025 – Resolutions Committee begins its work
  • May 16, 2025 – Deadline for resolutions to be sent to Council members in the Annual Members Meeting notice package
  • June 12, 2025 – Beginning of ranking process for resolutions (as required)
  • June 22, 2025 – AMM where resolutions are voted on
  • Following June 22, 2025 – Resolutions Committee to debrief and determine process for the 2026 AMM and prepare for Expressions of Interest for the 2026-2028 term.

Current Members
The current members of the Resolution Committee are Board member Drena McCormack and members at large, Joey Hartman, Deedee Slye and Dave Szollosy (Chair).
