The Edmonton Chapter of the Council of Canadians hosted an Alberta-wide town hall on February 10, 2021 to discuss why it is more important than ever to continue the work to Protect Our Water and Say No to Coal.
In response to growing public demands to stop coal developments on the Eastern slopes of the Rockies, the Alberta government announced the reinstatement of the 1976 Coal Policy and consultation around a new, updated Coal Policy. Despite this shift, there is still much work to be done to ensure that protections for this land and water are strong for generations to come. Read more.
