Join RAVEN and the Council of Canadians for a three-part webinar series focused on national resistance to LNG – aka fracked gas. The narrative peddled by government and industry is that LNG is “ethical,” “environmental,” and “economic.” We’ll bring together fantastic expert guests and frontline activists to debunk that myth, while connecting the dots of resistance from coast to coast to coast.
VIDEO: Webinar 3 – Coast to Coast, We are UnFrackable
A conversation about the ways in which people from coast to coast are joining forces to fight fracked gas. Learning from people on the frontlines of resistance to “extreme energy” projects helps people across the country and around the world shape strategies to enact climate justice. With Robin Tress of the Council of Canadians and Kukuwes Wowkis, a Mi’kmaq woman, grandmother, and water protector, speak about her experience fighting fracking in Unimaki (Cape Breton) and Elsipogtog (a community in New Brunswick), as well as resistance to the Alton Gas Project in Sipekne’katik/Nova Scotia.
VIDEO: Webinar 2 Creativity, Tenacity and Community: The Key Ingredients Behind Legal Challenges for Climate Justice
During the second episode of the “We are Un-Frackable” webinar series, we delved deep into conversation that not only unpacked the legal strategy behind cases that will challenge the status quo on climate action, but we also learned about the hearts and hopes behind these legal pursuits for justice.
