Hi, my name is _, I’m a supporter of the Council of Canadians, and I’m calling to urge you to support public, universal pharmacare.
I was very disappointed to learn that the draft legislation for pharmacare that your government prepared falls far short of what we need.
Your own government’s expert panel recommended a national public drug plan that covers all Canadians in 2019. That’s what virtually every commission and committee that has looked at this issue has recommended. And that’s the only way we’ll bring down Canada’s excessive drug prices.

Pharmaceutical and insurance company lobbyists opposed to pharmacare have met frequently with your government. I know that the Council of Canadians has requested a meeting with you and you haven’t responded yet – I’m asking you to set a meeting date as soon as possible.
I urge you and your government to stand up to these vested interests and support public, universal pharmacare. Our lives are worth more than their profits.
