The Council of Canadians Sudbury chapter took part in the Earth Day Festival in their community on Saturday.
Last week, CBC reported, “This Saturday marks World Environment Day and in Sudbury, the annual Earth Day Festival will take place as well. In previous years, the festival in Sudbury has been held on April 22, which is Earth Day. The coordinator of the festival said organizers decided to hold it later in the year so it can be outdoors. The event will feature activities for children, live music and food, as well as vendors from 40 different environmental groups across the city… The Earth Day Festival takes place in Memorial Park between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.”
Chapter activist André Clément tells us, “The Sudbury Chapter presented an information booth at Sudbury’s Earth Day festival this last Saturday to talk about the Council’s environment-related campaigns. The festival was attended by about 400 adults and families with a variety of citizens inquiring about Council activities.”
