WIN! Duncan city council backs climate change motion

Chapter activist Nancy Clegg reports that Duncan city council has agreed to take a climate justice resolution promoting green jobs/green communities put forward by the chapter to the Union of British Columbia Municipalities for their annual meeting in Whistler on September 27-October 1.

She notes that Mayor Phil Kent and Councillor Sharon Jackson were key in the success of this motion going forward.

The motion has also gone to the Saanich city council and to the mayor of Victoria to request their support for the motion at the UBCM meeting.
